With experience in the performing arts both on and off stage, our team seeks to collaborate with theatre makers, dancers, and artists to create work that is thoughtful and holistic. If you are creating a production of mixed media work that requires musicians, be they actor-musicians, singers, or composers and collaborators, don't hesitate to get in touch. Members of our team have contributed to productions as far reaching as La Monnaie/De Munt Opera House, the English National Opera, and the fashion house, Burberry.

The Origin

The Origin was Cellar Door Sounds' first collaboration in the area of live performance. We felt privileged to provide musicians for an interdisciplinary piece of performance art by Ben Judd. The piece was staged at the Stanley Picker Gallery in Kingston Upon Thames and used movement, singing, projection, textiles, and text to explore visions for a harmonious society built on community. We were particularly excited to produce work where the curation reflected the subject matter - the project brought together academics, writers, students and staff from the communities of Kingston and Kingston University, where our co-founder, Gabriella, worked conducting a staff choir.

However local in focus, the project reached collaborators internationally, with composer Apostolis Psychramis synthesising and re-composing scores written by Kingston-based composers all the way from Greece. We are lucky to comprise musicians who are willing to work across disciplines and unafraid to step out of their comfort zone. It is often in dialogue with other art forms where music touches audiences and communities, and are always seeking collaborations rich with interdisciplinary dialogue.
